After suffering no ill effects from the drive to Ouray a few days ago, today we decided to take a longer one along the Grand Mesa Byway and see the beginnings of the fall colors.
The Grand Mesa is the largest flat topped mountain on Earth. It rises about 6,000' above the surrounding valley floor and reaches an elevation of over 11,000'. It was a beautiful drive and we saw fall colors at the higher elevations. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.
