Finger01It's been a pretty lazy week.  With my knee issues, the last thing I've wanted to do is spend more time in the car.  So we've just been relaxing and visiting which is nice after the stress and activity the always precedes a 5 week trip such as this one.  My left index finger has been sore right along the edge of the nail.  I've had this before and I'm sure I have an infection starting.  In fact, the last time I had this was in Estes Park, CO back in 2004.  Ultimately, antibiotics didn't work and I had to have my finger lanced to get it to clear.  So this time, maybe if I get on it sooner, I'll have better luck.  So time to find an urgent care clinic.

Cedar PointA little Googling revealed Cedar Point Urgent Care and they are open today until 4 pm.  I have no idea if they will take my insurance and I've had little luck getting reimbursed in the past.  But no matter.  If I need to be seen then I guess I'll pay.  Shannon isn't feeling really well either so let's both go.

We arrive and I'm surprised we are the only people in the place.  That just doesn't happen back home.  We fill out our paperwork while the receptionist tries to run our insurance.  Unfortunately, no, that's not going to work so it will be $150 each. Ugh.  But anyway, we're both seen.  The PA didn't think my finger was ready for lancing so I left with instructions to soak it in warm water and Epsom salt.  It's never worked for me before but I try to be optimistic.  I also had a prescription for antibiotics to be used later if it gets worse.  Shannon also got a prescription for her ailments and we were on our way.

It was going to take some time for the local Walgreens to  prepare our prescriptions so we decided to get some lunch at Taco John's.  It's a chain restaurant with a very loose take on Mexican food, much like Taco Bell but not as good.

Except for one thing...tacojohns

Potato Olé

Potato Olé are basically Tater Tots but because they are deep fried, they are very crispy and good.  If only the actual Mexican food was as good.

After lunch, we headed to Walgreens to pick up our prescriptions and the Epsom salt.  Then it was back to the RV park for a quiet evening.
