It's been another week of waiting...
We haven't done much. I went to Walmart one more time to restock. We did our laundry. We tried a mexican restaurant named Rolberto's. It was good and we'll probably be back at some point before we leave. We also tried The Pig BBQ and Pub. It was OK. I tried the ribs but they weren't worth the money at $34.95. We may go again as Shannon is interested in the burgers and I'd like to try both the tri-tip and brisket sandwiches.
The only bit of excitement was that while waiting for an order from the casino diner, I decided to play a little video poker. I had enough luck to cover the meal. At least that's a little good fortune.
Regarding the truck, I called the shop just to see if there were any updates. There were not so I guess no news is good news. The engine is still scheduled to be delivered on Thursday, September 28. Being that it's so close to the weekend when the shop is closed, I'll probably just get the truck to them on Monday morning so I will still have use of it over the weekend if needed. With any luck, it will be completed on Wednesday or Thursday. As much as we'd like to get out of here ASAP and even though the engine is supposed to come "broken in", it would probably be wise to put about a 150 miles on it before subjecting it to the rigors of towing so we'll probably stay one more day and do that. Thus, we'll finally get out of here on October 6th or 7th. We're still undecided as to if we'll attempt to salvage some of our original trip and continue on to Colorado or just give up on this one and go home. For now, this is our view most of the time...
